Haiti Benefit

So I have to say that the “carnival” was well worth all the hard work.  The crew who set up the whole evening did a great job.  Brock Gill was incredibly entertaining and was perfect for the event.  You should really try to go see him some time.

Matt and I ended up winning one of the auction items and I am so excited about it.  It is going to be a gift for someone else, and we just know she’s going to love it.   Anyway,  here are some snapshots from the photo booth that was set up at the shindig… right next to the pigs-in-a-blanket, caramel apples and candy bar.  It was a great time!

Restore Haiti is still taking donations if you are interested in giving.  Every penny donated goes straight to the Haitian people.  Donate at Restore Haiti.

Restore Haiti

So tomorrow night is Restore Haiti’s Annual Benefit.  Matt and I have been the past two years when it was at Rocketown, but this time it is at the Factory in Franklin, TN.

It’s a good excuse to get dressed up and go have some fun all while supporting our friends in Haiti.

This year all funds will be used to dig a well in the local community to bring clean water to Hundreds.
Entertainment will be provided by illusionist Brock Gill! You wont want to miss this event.

Nashville Unites for Haiti

Chris Sanders and some of the Nashville Unites crowd
We just got word that donations are still coming in for Haiti from the benefit we did at the Limelight last Friday night.  That is so exciting!  Way to keep up the generosity people!
One of the sponsors of the gathering was former Tennessee TITAN, Chris Sanders (pictured on the far right).  We weren’t really aware of his background going in to this, but when he took the stage to “pray” over the food…we were blown away.  He shared from John 13 about Jesus washing the disciples’ feet and likened it to what we are doing for our brothers and sisters in Haiti…That by giving of ourselves, time, money, energy…we are washing the feet of those in need.  Really for me it was a call to that place of humility where it is better to serve than to be served.

In the above pic,  I’m standing beside Shane Casey and his wife Renee who are some of the recipients of the proceeds of this event.  They will be shipping a 40ft container full of supplies to Haiti, and hopefully get to go down to help distribute the goods.  Let’s keep covering them and their ministries in prayer (Angel Food and Solid Grounds Ministries).

And for all you football fans out there…you can go to ebay and bid on the autographed white football in the picture.  I’ll post a link to the auction as soon as I find it  🙂

Tonight at the Limelight @ 7:20

Maybe you’ve seen the interview on Fox 17…but just in case you haven’t.  You can come join us tonight starting around 5pm at the Limelight in Nashville for a dinner/show benefiting Haiti.  Matt and I go on at 7:20 and we will be doing a mix of music from the CD and we’ll even throw in “Wake Up and Dream” that’s yet to be recorded.

Anyway, if you show up, for $20 you get a fully catered meal (being served starting between 6pm-7pm) and live music from 5-midnight…not to mention the proceeds are going to ship a container that has already been filled with supplies to help the people of Haiti.

We hope to see you there.  Thanks!
