About

I guess it all really started when Matt Stefanick, a MI transplant to Columbia, TN met Aimee Benge, an only child native of Kingsport, TN. It was 1998 when Matt told Aimee, after having only talked to her twice, that she was going to be the lead singer of his band one day. Prophecy or just a hunch…either way, it came true that same year and they have been doing music together ever since. They started out as “Corduroy Blue” then transitioned to “SeraSphere.” It was with the latter that they released their self-titled EP in 1999. After graduating from TN Tech University in Cookeville in 2001, Matt and Aimee got married. Matt went on to get his masters in mechanical engineering and then they moved to Spring Hill,TN. In 2004 the couple lived in South Africa for a month before returning to the states to have their first daughter, Phoebe.
After their move from Cookeville, music was placed on the back burner in lieu of having a family and conquering the great outdoors. Other than music, their favorite hobbies include rock climbing, fly fishing, hiking, and cycling.
Aimee kept writing songs even when they were taking the “break” from music…and they both knew that God wasn’t finished with what He had started in them. As a confirmation to that, without any instigation of their own, they were asked to lead a worship team at their church, New River Fellowship, in Franklin,TN. The Nashville/Franklin area, being overrun with musical talent, was the last place that they expected to be asked to do music. People have to pay to play in this town.

Needless to say, it has been an amazing time of growth and learning. Learning how to listen to God, not only out of intense desire to hear His voice and His leading, but also listening just because He wants to speak.
